Prince’s Trust Volunteers Fun,Explore and Survival Event
Today there was a good example of a working partnership between FORK and our resident Eco Adventure outfit Wild By Nature (WBN). WBN was approached by the Princess Trust Volunteers (PTV) to run a fun explore and survival event . PTV run worthwhile community based 12 week personal and social development programme for 16-25 yr olds. Our resident FORK Representative Charlie Thompson did us proud once again, when he was invited to give, his rather tongue in cheek awareness talk concerning, the River, related environmental concerns and FORK . I will leave it up to your imagination but, aspects involved him pulling out from a bucket, discarded items that usually get flushed down the toilet .
Anyway be 11.15 the team had split down into two separate groups who alternatively had a general talk on survival and then participated in a canoe along the Kelvin and a Nature walk. The event was well received by volunteers and leaders. In addition to WBN being able to facilitate this event, FORK have started to forge a valuable partnership with this branch of PTV , who are interested in joining and possibly doing some community work projects connected to Ha’penny Bridge house.
