Ha’penny Bridge House update
I turned up to HBH at 09.15 and was surprised how busy the place was , Allan, whom i work with, was busy unloading the vehicle as we had just returned with equipment from the Kirkintilloch canal festival . He told me that I had just missed Mark , who had given the students from Cardonald college a quick welcome chat and the background to FORK. We discretely piled our kit outside as Charles was now giving a quite in depth talk about future plans. Before providing the graphic students the time to explore the area and us the chance to nip in and hang our equipment up in the storage corner, ready for our next activity , a nature walk on Wednesday with the students. Even without twenty students using the building for a creative base HBH has become a focal point and is now regularly visited by bargain hunters rummaging through the bric a brac, people asking for information, of course ourselves for a handy storage point for equipment , the clean up folk and now the students. I had to remind myself it was only last year when we all had to raise funds for the roof , the shutters were fixed and down and access inside was difficult . I just thought members would want a quick as it happens report with images , I am sure Charles will be doing a lengthy report and keep us all updated on HBH progress.
