UPDATE
There are still 12 places on the FORK canoe safari Event to Loch Lomond scheduled for the 11th of August 09.
This is a fantastic chance to sample the delights of open canoeing and obtain some skills in the process, whilst taking a more intimate view of Loch Lomond and its unique Islands. The pace and theme of the Safari’s will reflect the nature of the group.
The Canoes are very stable and can be rafted to increase stability , it is very unlikely you will fall in as you sit on seats and work with another person as they are paddled in Tandem. All your equipment is provided and there is even special dry bags and cases for belongings you wish to take with you.
There is real chances of seeing a variety of bird life including Osprey or Cappercaille , you may be lucky and spot one of the last remaining Wallaby’s in Scotland which inhabit certain Islands.
At the end of the day in the late afternoon it is proposed to have a dinner at the Colquhoun arms and the Inn has agreed to give all FORKS a 10% discountnt on their fabulous range of traditional dishes and beverages. If canoeing is not your thing others may want to combine a gentle stroll round the area and meet up for dinner and drinks . The canoe safari and transport for 12 people up and back is completely free of charge and provided by Wild By Nature .. still not convinced got to www.wildbynature.eu [more about the day and booking]
